One morning, Professor Jessica Whited received a call that her son had sustained serious injury to his face in a biking accident. Despite being a world-renowned expert in regenerative sciences and head of the Harvard Whited Lab, she was told there would be significant scarring and no real options were offered to minimize it.
Every day she witnesses nature’s super-regenerators, like the axolotl salamanders, reproduce tissue for scarless wound-healing. This emergency resulted in her mission to dedicate her life’s work to unlock these regenerative properties for human wound healing and limb regeneration.
